Materials Planning & Control Specialist

Job Summary:

The Materials Planning & Control Specialist is responsible for overseeing the analysis and planning of materials for VQ Manufacturing Operations and the reconciliation of serialized and non-serialized inventory throughout the VQ Distribution network.  The incumbent will work on complex problems that may require the development of new methods, techniques or technologies.  Work is reviewed for results and overall applicability.  The Materials Planning and Control Specialist is responsible for documenting and assuring compliance for all material transactions and issuances to support Manufacturing Operations and the monitoring of all present and future demands to ensure ongoing fulfillment of orders.  Duties include, but are not limited to maintaining control of proper inventory levels, responsibility for overseeing the proper execution of inventory counts, documenting all processes to ensure compliance with all company requirements, and reporting the root cause and corrective actions for any findings of material variances.

  • Experience establishing a new inventory control process
  • Knowledge of Inventory Systems
  • Managing inventory
  • Hands on
  • Possess excellent computer skills
  • Attention to detail is a must
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Ability to solve problems using standard operating procedures, technical knowledge, teamwork and critical thinking
  • Forklift experience


Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Additional 4+ years related experience or equivalent of education plus directly related education, training and experience
