Electrotherapy

Electrotherapy is a simple, yet effective protocol for pain management, edema reduction and muscle re-education. Through the application of therapeutic electrical currents, electrotherapy devices stimulate sensory messages that block pain signals from getting to the brain. Additionally, electrotherapy devices can stimulate muscles to contract, resulting in increases in local blood circulation, prevention of muscle atrophy and increases in range of motion. The use of electrotherapy to alleviate symptoms of injury or surgery is an effective alternative to traditional pain management without the risk of abuse, addiction or other serious side effects.
